Episode 42: The Periodic Table of Writing – Defining The Genres

Hello everyone! Thanks for checking us out! This week is a really fun episode as we discuss the most commonly agreed-upon genres that inhabit the world of fictitious writing. We debate whether or not it’s important to get your genre correct for your work and why. We’ll also lay out a list of what are the most accepted genres and give you an example or two of each. We even go over what “Bildungsroman” is. Wow, didn’t even know that was a thing! If you’re a curious lot (and we hope you are), we’ll also give you average word counts for each of those genres to help in that all-important planning for your book or story. Please feel free to check out the websites below that so donated information to this podcast.

Don’t worry, we still have our regular segments: Old Time Accountability Hour, Ask the Muse, Method to the Madness, and Feed The Fire. And before you ask, yes, we’re still just as silly as always.
