Episode 44: Rally the Tropes

Hooray! Paul and Mel have returned from the abyss of sickness and are here to help us deliver another episode of your favorite writing-based podcast!

This week, we wrap up our series on “genre” with an exploration of common tropes. If you’re wondering what in the world tropes are, just sit right back and listen as we tell you. If you already know what they are, hang around anyway as we’re certain you’ll be entertained. In this latest edition we also discuss particular tropes, or themes, that are prevalent to the most commonly accepted genres. We’re certain that you’ll recognize more than a few of these. We also debate over whether you can use these too much in your writing and if, indeed, they are really necessary. Can’t you just feel that this is a fun episode?!

As you might have guessed, we’ll still have our regular segments: Old Time Accountability Hour, Ask the Muse, Method to the Madness, and Feed The Fire. And remember, we’re the people your English teacher told you about!
