Here we go again as it’s time for another episode of Method and Muse! This time, we’re discussing what perils and adventures you might face if you take part in NaNoWriMo. For those of you just joining us, NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writers Month. (and where have you been?)
As we mentioned in our previous episode, there are all sorts of things you might experience as you participate in this event. Some of it’s good, some of it’s bad. All types of writers will be involved in this. Who can you expect to meet? What things might you discover about yourself as a writer? What habits will you find yourself falling into? How will you deal adversity and obstacles to meeting your goals? What exactly are your goals?
All of these questions can come into play as you make your way through NaNoWriMo. Think of this as a super-concentrated version of life as a writer because, ultimately, that’s what it is. You’ll learn what kind of writer you are and how you go about the business of being one. It can be exciting, scary, intimidating, or all of the above. The important thing is that you set realistic expectations, have fun, and learn from it. Now, go out there and make us all proud!
